The Prince George 2015 Canada Winter Games Host Society is seeking nominations for three additional directors.
Nominations committee chairperson Geoff Paynton said the board is looking for some additional skill sets to add to the current 11-member board.
"From day one we've always known our board is going to grow," Paynton said. "This is a policy and governance board. It's not a day-to-day management board. [But] it'll definitely be a big commitment - it'll range from big to bigger. A minimum of four to 15 hours per month."
The board is looking for directors with backgrounds in law, finance, sport, media relations, marketing and volunteer boards.
Experience hosting a major sports event and knowledge of the Canadian High Performance Sport system are also needed, Paynton said.
Residents of Northern B.C. are preferred, Paynton added, especially those from the Northwest and Peace areas.
"These have always been billed as B.C.'s games," Paynton said. "It's open to anyone."
Paynton himself is from Williams Lake.
People who are bilingual in English and French and have extensive connections in the community would also be valued additions to the board, he said.
In addition to serving on the board itself, directors will take part in and likely lead some of the subcommittees which will be formed by the board, Paynton said.
The deadline for nominations is Oct. 5. Nominations can be e-mailed to [email protected] or mailed to 100-1584 Seventh Ave., V2L 3P4.
