One loose end in a misadventure involving Prince George Citizen reporter Mark Nielsen has been tied up.

The camera he lost while hiking around Lost Lake in Beaverly has been retrieved.

Nowell Senior found the item lying on a tuft of grass alongside a swampy area the day after Nielsen lost his way in the dark while looking for the camera and eventually called 911 for help.

Both RCMP and Prince George Search and Rescue were called to the scene and found Nielsen, a little cold and embarrassed.

Nielsen had been on a hike with the Caledonia Ramblers earlier that same day.

Rather than tell anyone he had dropped the camera further back on the route they had taken, he decided to return to the area later the same day despite the lack of daylight.

While out looking for the camera, Nielsen lost his GPS, an orange and black Garmin eTrex 20, along the lakeshore of Lost Lake. It has not been found despite subsequent searches of the area.
