Calling for info on Vanderhoof attack

On April 3 just after 1 p.m., police were called to investigate the attack, which involved a weapon.

"The suspect attacked a person with a sharp object on Third Street before getting into a vehicle and fleeing the scene," said Vanderhoof RCMP Const. Jason Baird.

Police have so far come up with no leads in their search for the suspect, who is described as a native male dressed in a jean jacket, T-shirt, jeans and a blue baseball cap with meshing on the back.

The attacker is estimated to be in his 40s, about six-foot-two, with a tanned complexion, black or dark brown eyes, dark hair with a ponytail, and a heavy build. He had acne scars on his cheeks and nose.

The suspect fled in an older, light blue rusty Honda Civic with black lettering for a rear license plate. No license plate number was obtained.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further details were provided about the incident.
