A major overhaul of the city's bylaw services department was suggested by some city councillors, while others worried about the long-term ramifications.

No contention existed on the need to hire a new manager of the municipality's enforcement office for made-in-Prince George regulations. The position has been vacant ever since former manager Ken Craig left the position in about September. Since then, senior bylaw officer Shaun Baker has been the acting manager but he told The Citizen on Tuesday he did not covet the permanent manager's chair. "I'll be going back to what I did previously in this department: senior bylaw officer," he said.
