To paraphrase a popular saying 'there's no such thing as a free ride.'

That'll be true again throughout B.C.'s interior come June 1.

BC Transit has announced fares will be enforced again starting on that day.

Additionally, new safety features are being installed on busses to allow front door access once again; specifically vinyl panels are being added to separate the driver from passengers.

"With the change, fares will be collected on conventional, community, and handyDART services," states the transit company.

Other pandemic-related safety measures will remain in place, including limiting the number of people allowed on buses.
