A Burns Lake teen who has had trouble securing a family doctor in her home town will be able to see one in Fraser Lake after all.
Emily King, 17, has an appointment for next week after receiving an assurance that she can travel to the next town to the east to secure a physician to guide her through the process of dealing with her rheumatoid arthritis.
In a letter sent earlier this month to Northern Health, Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad and area newspaper, King said she was told by the Fraser Lake medical clinic they were prohibited from seeing anyone who had seen a doctor in Burns Lake.
But in a phone call with a Northern Health official on Monday night, she and her mother, Katherine, were since told it was a "misunderstanding."
