Jol Kress is thrilled after the success of the Burns Lake Tragedy Fundraiser, held on Friday night.
"I've never done anything like this before and I was just amazed at how generous the community and people from around B.C. were when it came to support and donations for the silent auction," said Kress, a member of local cover band Sound Addiction.
The initial tally from the silent auction and ticket sales are estimated to be $10,000.
"All the money will be given to the Burns Lake Rotary Club and they will disperse the money to where it's needed within the community," said Kress.
"It's amazing for one night. We also took all the leftover food and brought it too St. Vincent de Paul so they were ecstatic too. We got to help out two different places at once."
Kress started organizing the event a few days after the fire at Babine Forest Products and she's amazed with the events successs.
"It's been extremely overwhelming and the generosity of the city has been outstanding. Everyone has been so giving," said Kress.
