District 57 Tapestry Singers
Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Quinson elementary school, 251 Ogilvie St. S., the Tapestry Singers would like to invite new members to join them for their tenth season. Junior singers are Grade 4 to 7 students from public schools in the district and the senior singers are Grade 7 to 12 students. The Hootenanny Tour
Thursday from 7 to 9:15 p.m. at Vanier Hall, 2901 Griffiths Ave., Tim & the Glory Boys, are hitting the road to bring a Worship Hoedown to the stage. Duchess Park 40th reunion
Friday at 6 p.m. at the Signature Sandman, 2990 Recreation Place. The class of 76 reunion starts with a meet and greet and registration. No-host bar and appetizers at 7:30.

Observatory Open House
Friday from 8:30 to 11 p.m., at 7365 Tedford Road, the Prince George Astronomical Observatory will hold an open house featuring a talk on the types of asteroids. Save the Dome Society Garage and Book Sale
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roll-A-Dome, 2588 Recreation Place, the Save the Dome Society will host a Garage and Book Sale as a fundraiser to support the community gathering place. Items available include books, records, DVDs, antiques, coins, archery equipment and lots of miscellaneous treasures. Some tables are still available at $25 each. Admission is free. Prince George Automotive Swap Meet
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Prince George Golf and Curling Club, 301 Recplace Drive, is the sixth annual Automotive Swap Meet, hosted by the Prince George Chapter of The Vintage Car Club of Canada, features parts, cars and collectibles. Third Annual Harvest Feast
Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. the Prince George Public Library, Bob Harkins branch, will host the Third annual Harvest Feast, which is a library after-hours event featuring food stations and local music. Caledonia Ramblers hike
Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. the Caledonia Ramblers will be leading a strenuous trip to Longworth Lookout on Sunday, Sept. 18. Trailhead is a 115-kilometre drive east of Prince George. The trail length is 6.7 kilometres one way to the lookout, with an elevation gain of 1,077 metres (3,535 feet). The trail winds through a grove of large cedar and hemlock trees and there are great views of the Cariboo and Rocky Mountains and the Fraser River at the lookout tower.
