International Compost Awareness Week

Thursday and Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the REAPS Compost Demonstration Garden, 1950 Gorse St., celebrate International Compost Awareness Week. Learn to reuse vegetable waste, instead of allowing it to be trucked off to the landfill. Known as Gardener's Gold, compost enriches soil fertility, stimulates healthy root development, and improves soil texture, aeration and water retention. Learn how to compost and have questions answered.

Community Yoga Class

Friday from 7:45 to 9 p.m. at Chinook Yoga, 321 Vancouver St., there is a mixed level yoga class. This class is suitable for all levels. The class admission is by donation with all proceeds going to St. Vincent de Paul. For more information visit www.chinookyoga.com.

PG Pet Fair

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the second annual pet fair takes place at the Columbus Community Centre, 7201 Domano Blvd. This is a free event. Everything for pets and pet lovers under one roof. Seven area rescues and shelters will be on location, nail trims and pet photos by donation. All proceeds donated to rescues and shelters attending.

Monster Truck Destruction Tour

Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at CN Centre will host monster trucks. See these 10,000 pound, car crushing giants compete in racing, wheelie contests, and then rock the house with amazing freestyle action. Art of Memory

Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Prince George Public Library, Bob Harkins Branch, join the Prince George & District Community Arts Council for an art display and reception as artists reveal pieces inspired by the memories of local historians. Elijah Rock

Transit of Mercury

Disc Sports Spring Ultimate Parity League

A Man and his Models

Until May 14 Prince George Railway and Forestry Museum, 850 River Road, will honour one of its most generous volunteers Roy Groeneveld with the exhibit called a Man and his Models. Groeneveld worked as a C.N.R. Locomotive Crane Operator from 1957 through 1966. He generously donated many of his intricate models to the museum. For more information call 250-563-7351.

Spruce Capital Seniors

Breast Cancer Support Group

Every first and third Tuesday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Michael's Anglican Church, 1505 Fifth Ave. Informal conversations about individual breast cancer journeys and experiences from diagnosis through treatment to life after breast cancer. Offering emotional support, encouragement, and a listening ear. Talk with women who have 'been there, done that' and help each other move forward one day at a time. Fiddlers' Jam Sessions

Tai Chi

Every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Knox United Church basement, 1448 Fifth Ave., learn 8 brocade qigong, 9-form and 108-form tai chi. Tea Time for the Soul

Heartbeat

Every community experiences death by suicide. When an intentionally self-inflicted death occurs families and friends suffer a magnitude of isolated, complicated grief. Because the grief that follows suicide is different from grief resulting from other causes of death the Canadian Mental Health Association formed HEARTBEAT, a group of mutual support for those who have suffered loss through suicide. Story Time at Books & Co.
