Books & Company, the beloved downtown bookstore and arts mecca, has now put Prince George on the map in a new way.
When online pop-culture news website BuzzFeed gave its list of top bookstores in Canada, the local establishment was high on their list.
"We recently asked members of the BuzzFeed community for their favourite bookstores in Canada. Here are the wonderful results," said the preamble to their list of "35 Charming Canadian Bookstores You Need To Visit."
The site grouped the stores by region: Western Canada, Prairies, Central, Northern and Atlantic.
The Western Canada category listed 10 stores. Books & Company came in at No. 4 after Victoria stores Russell Books and Munro's Books and MacLeod's Books of Vancouver.
The fan quote used by BuzzFeed to represent Books & Company said, "Wonderful local finds, funky paint job, amazing cafe that hosts awesome events and excellent knowledgeable staff that is really the cherry on top. It's everything you would hope to find in an independent bookstore and having it located in Northern BC makes it even more special."
