An RCMP bomb squad has been called in from the Lower Mainland as a precautionary measure, Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said Wednesday, to deal with some suspicious items found in an alley at 17th and Maple.
"There were a couple things located that are bomb-sniffing dogs did not hit on, we don't believe they're explosives and they've been there for a significant amount of time from what we understand but we've opted to bring up the bomb squad as a precaution," Douglass said.
"They're very small, we don't believe there is any public safety risk."
The area has been cordoned off.
