Bomb letter writer "intelligent", "narcissistic": psychologist

The mind behind three letters purporting to be from the Tomslake pipeline bomber is likely a university drop-out, relatively intelligent, egotistical and openly mocks the police.

That's the initial analysis of Dr. Stephen Porter, a professor at UBC's department of psychology after he examined letters sent to the Dawson Creek Daily News that arrived amidst a string of six bombings that targeted EnCana facilities in northeastern B.C.

RCMP have not confirmed if the third letter to the Daily News - received on April 14 - is connected to two previous letters that were sent October 2008 and July 2009 to area media outlets. Dr. Porter

said the most recent note - which warns EnCana "We are growing in strength and now ready for actions at all your installations" - may well be a hoax but the author or authors behind it would have to be "a very sophisticated deceiver."
