The B.C. Coroners Service said Wednesday it has confirmed the identity of a deceased male found in a wooded area in Quesnel last fall as Markham Paul Gravelle.

Gravelle was a Quesnel resident and about 41 years old at the time of his death.

His remains were discovered by a local surveyor on Oct. Oct. 31, 2011 and was last known to be alive in late summer 2009.

The coroners service said it used circumstantial evidence and DNA analysis, and foul play was ruled out as the cause of death.
