A boat trailer was found in the Nechako River, sans boat and sans identifiable

ownership. Police recovered the trailer but are hunting for who might be missing it.

The trailer was brought to their attention on Oct. 31. It was found in a rural area west of the city.

"An officer attended the 11000 block of the Takla Forest Service Road and seized the trailer," said police spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.

"The trailer was reported to have been partially submerged in the Nechako River for at least two days prior to being reported to police."

The trailer is approximately 18 feet long, has two wheels, is black in colour and looks to be for a small boat or personal watercraft as the guide rails are close together.

Its tail lights were broken and electrical wires have been cut.

"Investigators have not been able to locate the owner of the trailer," Douglass said.
