A 529 Garage bike registration event is set for this evening at the band shell at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park, 5-8 p.m.
The free registration process takes about five minutes and includes essential information such as the ownership details, serial number and photos of the bicycle.
In the event of a theft, the information can easily be distributed to other registered riders through an alert feature on the smart phone app.
The information can also be easily provided to both the police and insurance companies.
Two more events are set for the Otway Nordic Centre next week - Wed., May 24, 4:30-8:30 p.m. and Sat., May 27, 9:30-1:30 p.m.
More than 200 bikes have been registered since the campaign began this month and the goal is 2,000 by the end of the summer.
