"Prince George's geography makes it difficult... for some people to participate in Bike to Work Week due to the large hills and long distances between people's homes and their work," city transit supervisor Dave Bradshaw reported to city council. "Allowing Bike to Work Week participants to ride transit free during the week will encourage more people to participate in the Bike to Work Week challenge and will help introduce non-transit riders to Prince George's transit system."

The initiative is anticipated to cost the city approximately $1,000 in transit revenues.
