A fundraiser for men's health, the fourth annual Big Blue Ball, takes place on Nov. 7 at the Coast Inn of the North.
So far the event has raised more than $100,000 and this year's event, presented by the Rotary Club of Prince George, hopes to add significantly to the total.
The Rotary club has promoted men's health in Prince George with a Men's Health Initiative which hosts Men's Health Days that have seen attendance by more than 200 men. There is also a successful Prostate Cancer Support Group, including outreach efforts to the local branch of the Canadian Cancer Society and Kordyban Lodge.
The priority is increasing awareness of prostate cancer and other issues relating to men's health while offering support.
The Big Blue Ball includes dinner, live and silent auctions, musical entertainment and an opportunity for guests to showcase their best in denim formal wear. Tickets are $85 and are on sale at the Coast Inn, Books & Co., Studio 2880 or online at www.thebigblueball.ca.
