Bidding on the contract for the city's $350,000 core service review has begun.

The City of Prince George released the request for proposals online at B.C. Bid this week. Bidding on the contract closes on March 14 at 2 p.m.

The 213-page bid document breaks the contract down into two parts: an evaluation of the efficiency of city services and an evaluation of the city's revenue streams.

"Proponents are advised that forming part of this [request for proposals] is a mandatory requirement that the successful consultant submit all of the project deliverables to the city no later than Sept. 30, 2012," the bid document says. "Any

proposal that fails to demonstrate compliance with this

mandatory requirement within the bid submission will result in the proposal being rejected without any further consideration."

Bidders will be evaluated on their qualifications, performance record, proposed methodology, project understanding and cost.

In January, city council approved the core service review, which was a key plank in Mayor Shari Green's election platform. Council approved the $350,000 price tag for the review be added to the 2012 budget.

Work on the core review is expected to run from April to August, with the final report to be

delivered in September.
