A Prince George man has been sentenced to a further six months in jail and two years probation for a break and enter of a Chief Lake Road home two summers ago.
Dorian Shane McCrea, 45, was issued the term Thursday in B.C. Supreme Court in Prince George.
He has remained in custody since he was arrested Aug. 2, 2013 after the homeowner called RCMP at about 3 a.m. to say some people with flashlights were filling up a pickup truck with items from his property.
In what police called a "textbook example" of how such a situation should be handled, the homeowner stayed on the line as RCMP made their way to the scene.
RCMP found McCrea and Andrea Erika Johnson, 39, at the scene and just about to leave.
McCrea jumped out of the truck while it was moving and attempted unsuccessfully to flee on foot while the Johnson remained in the truck, which rolled into two police cruisers, according to RCMP.
Johnson faces sentencing next month on the matter.
