BCNE offers all kinds of fun for young and old Aug. 18 to 21

The 110th BC Northern Exhibition takes place Aug. 18 to 21 at the exhibition grounds in Prince George. Along with West Coast Amusements midway for thrills and games of chance there is entertainment all day every day during the four-day event.

The Hurricane spins its riders around in 2019 at the midway during the 107th BCNE. The midway is back in action for the 100th BCNE Aug. 18 to 21.

The 110th BC Northern Exhibition takes place Aug. 18 to 21 at the exhibition grounds in Prince George.

Along with West Coast Amusements midway for thrills and games of chance there is entertainment all day every day during the four-day event.

Foodies can take in the grilling competition hosted by Masterchef season 7 winner Shaun O’Neale. Backyard grillers will compete for prizes and bragging rights as PG’s Top Grillmaster. Preliminary rounds will be held Thursday and Friday, with the finals taking place on Saturday. O’Neale will do two demonstrations  and have cookbooks available for purchase.

Take a step back in time by visiting Heritage Lane to explore Old Town Fort George as the BCNE recognizes the spirit of the pioneers who helped carve the city from the wilderness.

Don't forget to take a stroll through the Home Arts & Horticulture section of the fair to see a great variety of quilts, jams, jellies, preserves, knitting and there's even some baked goods to admire.

Those 55+ are invited to attend Seniors Day Thursday in Kin 3 to get all the latest information about health, wealth and lifestyle. Admission into the BCNE is a toonie for seniors making this event accessible for all.

Be sure to visit the barns to see all the 4H participants showcasing their projects including beef, sheep, swine, rabbit, goat and llama, yes, you read it right, llama as well as outdoor living, cake decorating and for the rest, you’ll just have to see for yourself.

There’s a full food court as well as the highly anticipated fair classics to be had and the dance takes place Saturday with the theme The Outer Limits – not just country anymore.
