The BC SPCA City Challenge against Kamloops is winding down with a final fundraiser tomorrow, May 27, at Nancy O's from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
There will be cat and dog cocktails on the drink menu and an auction featuring "bad animal art." Tickets are available for $10 at Nancy O's and Books & Company.
To date, Prince George has raised $10,000 and Kamloops has raised $34,000, but no one really loses because all the money goes toward helping animals. "Everything we raise stays right here," said BC SPCA North Cariboo branch manager, Ann Gough. This year's goal is $40,000.
The person with the highest individual donation will win a trip for two anywhere WestJet flies.
The City Challenge is an annual competition between Prince George and Kamloops to see which city can raise the most money for their respective shelters. It coincides with Be Kind to Animals Month.
