Now is the time for Prince George seniors to step up their game to prepare for the 2010 B.C. Seniors Games.
The games will be hosted by Comox and Campbell River Sept. 15 to 18, but there's plenty to organize between then and now, said Dick Voneugen, co-ordinator of Zone 9 which reaches from 70 Mile House to Mackenzie and includes McBride and Wells.
"May is the month when we sign up and hold local playoffs. A membership fee of $15 entitles participants to try out in as many sports as they wish," said Voneugen.
"In June we must decide which of the 29 events we'll compete in and hold Zone 9 playoffs to see who represents the North Central area at the Games. The winners of the events will sign a games registration form with a $50 fee that includes the banquet and lunches during the games."
Voneugen said by July 1 "everything must be cast in stone" even though the games won't happen until September. Check out the events and contacts in The Citizen. For general information call Voneugen at 250-962-7672.
