B.C. records 29 new COVID-19 cases, Northern Health remains at 86

There are now 3,591 recorded COVID-19 cases in B.C. after the latest update from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health Minister Adrian Dix this afternoon (July 30). 

There have been 29 newly discovered cases in the past 24 hours throughout the province.

Northern Health has no new cases and remains at 86 cases. There are no new cases on Haida Gwaii. An outbreak on Haida Gwaii was declared by Northern Health on July 24.

There have been no new deaths from the virus since yesterday, keeping the toll at 194 while a total of 3,155 have recovered.

There are 1,076 recorded cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,816 in Fraser Health, 143 in the Island Health region, 260 in Interior Health and 61 people that reside outside of Canada.

The COVID-19 outbreak at Abbotsford's Fraser Valley Packers has now reached 59 infections, but Dr. Henry stressed that eating fruit from that packing plant is safe, although normal safeguards, such as washing fruit before eating, is recommended.

Outbreaks at the Holy Family Hospital care home and at Mission Memorial Hospital remain active.
