Firefighters in B.C. was called to rescue a dog out of the Thompson River this weekend.
The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. today (Feb. 21) just off Aviation Way near Kamloops Airport.
A witness told Glacier Media he saw a dog in the water, struggling to get back onto the ice.
The witness said the dog's owner ventured out on the ice with a long stick to try and get the animal, then opted to call 9-1-1.
Kamloops Fire Rescue arrived and the dog was retrieved from the water a short time later.
