The B.C. Chamber of Commerce has cancelled its annual general meeting and conference, which was scheduled to happen in Prince George.
The event was planned for May 21-23 at the Courtyard Marriott downtown, and was expected to bring business leaders from across the province to the city. A statement on the chamber's website said the organization is planning to hold a shorter online event during the same dates.
"We are actively seeking out an appropriate platform to host the gatherings and obtaining legal advice on our responsibilities around convening Annual General Meetings remotely/digitally," the statement said.
The chamber will provide refunds to attendees who purchased tickets, and delegates who booked hotel reservations at the Marriott can call 250-596-6274 or 1-888-236-2427 to cancel their reservations without penalty.
