An early morning fire brought Prince George Fire Rescue crews to a home on Gillett Street.
They found a basement suite in flames in the 400 block. It was almost 4 a.m. Three halls dispatched 15 firefighters to handle the situation.
"The fire was quickly knocked down," said assistant chief Drew Larsen. "There was one occupant home at the time. The resident made it out of the building safely and was taken to the University Hospital of Northern BC by BC Ambulance Service to be checked out."
Damage was estimated to be approximately $25,000. The cause of the fire, said Larsen, is determined to be accidental.
