A half dozen performers are on tap when a "Band Aid" event is held Saturday night at Riverstone Bar and Grill to raise money to help a community in Liberia.
The cash will pay for educational support and supplies in New Georgia, where local nurse Breanne Larrett traveled to last year as part of a 10-person medical team.
"While the main objective was to provide free medical care, I found that there was a great need for education within the community where we stayed," Larrett said. "Fourteen years of civil war has left the country without a formal education system, leaving whole generations of children and young people without access to any basic schooling and a very bleak future."
Tickers are $10 and the show begins at 8 p.m.
