A Prince George man took the bait and was arrested Saturday after stealing from a vehicle.
Darryl David Basil, 34, was taken into custody by the RCMP after he was caught on video taking items from inside a bait car located downtown. He was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of crack cocaine.
Basil will make his first court appearance Monday morning. Police have recommended charges of theft under $5,000, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation.
According to the RCMP, the local detachment has access to largest bait car fleet in North America through its partnership with the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team.
