Whiff!

Another Prince George sport swings and misses on the possibility of having a summer season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The North Central Badminton Academy says it’s cancelling its camps in July and August with the hopes of returning to safe play and activities later this year.

The club adds, in a social media post, COVID-19 restrictions ‘and the uncertainty of availability of rental facilities’ are the reasons behind the decision.

A ‘Return to Sport’ plan is in the works and will continue over the next couple of months as the Academy is hoping to have some activities earmarked for the Fall depending on what’s available.

The decision also comes two months after the club was set to host the Canadian Masters Badminton Championships, but the tournament was postponed to 2021.

More information is available on the North Central Badminton Academy’s website.
