Alleged gangster Joey Lamont Arrance was sentenced on a minor charge in Prince George provincial court his week as he awaits trial on two more major allegations.

Arrance was sentenced to one day in jail on Wednesday for willfully resisting a peace officer, stemming from a June 2010 incident.

Arrance continues to face charges of sexual assault and breach of an undertaking from an alleged July 2010 incident and firearms-related charges from an alleged September 2010 incident.

Kirsten Fredin also faces charges from the same September 2010 incident in which police say they seized a 10 mm Glock handgun and spare magazine as well as a pineapple-style grenade and a body armour vest from a home at 4337 of Foster Road.

In late November 2010, the home was gutted by a fire from which Fredin's mother later died from extensive burns. The blaze was set 22 hours after The Twisted Soul Tattoo Parlor, owned by Arrance, was also gutted by fire.

Both were gang-related arsons, police say.

An arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 17 on the firearms charges and a trial confirmation hearing on the sexual assault charge is set for Aug. 24.
