An lone male with a butcher knife demanded money and cigarettes at about 7:30 this morning at the Petro Can on 20th Avenue.
The suspect is described as about 5 foot seven with a slim build, about 150 lbs, wearing dark baggy jeans and white running shoes.
He wore a dark-coloured stocking or mask that covered his face.
Police service dogs searched the area.
