Crown counsel has approved charges against a man suspected of groping a woman while she was walking along a Prince George street.
Cody Jack Joseph, 19, faces two counts of sexual assault.
He was arrested Wednesday following a two-hour manhunt. It began at about 2 p.m. when the alleged victim called Prince George RCMP to say a man had groped her as she was walking near First Avenue and Quinn Street.
RCMP converged on the area, setting up a perimeter and keeping a look out for a man fitting the description she had given. A local elementary school was also advised of the situation.
With the help of the police dog service and general duty officers on bike patrol, the area was searched. By 4 p.m., they had apprehended a suspect at a Quinn Street home.
RCMP said the woman was able to run off before calling police and was not injured.
Jack remained in custody as of Thursday.
