The City of Prince George says it'll be working longer shifts after last night's snowfall.
Following the accumulation of the white stuff over the past two days, the city says snow and ice crews are working on priority one and priority two routes, according to city council's snow and ice control policy.
Crews returned to the priority routes last night after another dump of snow (Feb. 4) and will work day, afternoon and night shifts to help bring roads to "reasonable condition" before they move onto priority three routes, which include those in residential areas, the city says in a press release.
The city adds numerous factors, including temperatures, accompanying weather systems and total snow accumulation, affects operations, timelines and decisions about equipment deployment.
"The City of Prince George thanks residents for following its winter parking restrictions and for driving cautiously when around road crews and equipment," the media release states.
