A Williams Lake business got flash-robbed on Sunday and police worry the band of thieves might be on the move.
The technique is simple, and age-old in shoplifting circles: a group enters a business, creates distractions for the staff, and sneaks off with merchandise.
In this instance, there were eight people involved, all of them Caucasian.
"The group of thieves entered a business on Settlers Place during business hours and while certain members of the group distracted staff, the remainder stole a number of items including over $4,000 in cash," said Cpl. Jason Pole of the Williams Lake RCMP. "The group of thieves included males and females as well as young children of various ages."
The suspects may have been driving a black SUV. Police put the public on notice that the group was possibly transient.
