The godfather of shock-rock has decided it’s time to entertain Prince George once again after more than a decade of absence.

Alice Cooper will grace the stage of the CN Centre on Thursday, April 16, 2020, along with special guest Lita Ford, as announced this morning (Oct. 15) for a new worldwide ‘Ol’ black eyes is back’ tour.

He last performed in Prince George on Sept. 23, 2008.

Cooper, a three-time Grammy nominee, has produced cult classics in the era of psycho-drama rock that includes I’m Eighteen, School’s Out, Poison, No More Mr. Nice Guy, and Feed My Frankenstein.

The soon-to-be 72-year-old continues to tour six months each year, performing in places across Canada, the United States, and Australia.

“Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock,” reads a CN Centre release. “Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors.”

He will also be joined by a notable female rocker from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Lita Ford, a former guitarist and singer with The Runaways, is coming along Cooper’s tour.

She’s known for her work with Joan Jett, Ozzy Osborne and Cherie Currie, while also flying solo from 1980 to 1995.

The 61-year-old recently had her signature song Kiss Me Deadly featured in the box office blockbuster Captain Marvel.

Tickets for Cooper’s stop in Prince George, one of three in B.C., go on sale this Friday (Oct. 18) at 10 a.m.
