The public art at the Prince George Airport is about to change.

For years, the portraits on the wall of the arrivals area have become more and more familiar to travellers and airport users. Airport administration felt it was time for some new faces to be shared in that space.

"We are asking for your help in capturing the personality of this great community through your photographs of the people of our region: single or in small groups, young, seasoned and everyone in between," said airport authority spokesperson Lindsay Cotter. "This is your project. Help us demonstrate the spirit and character of Prince George."

Cotter said the portraits are to be of people from this region, and should include any age, ethnic background, or physical character. Photos can be in either colour or black-and-white formats.

"Photos must be your original work, and if there are other people in the photo, you must obtain and include their written permission," she said. "The photos should be close-ups and should be cropped to above the shoulders. The final artwork will be focused on faces."

Digital portraits need to be submitted in a JPEG format. Prints should be a minimum of 4x6 and a maximum of 8x10.

Digital portraits, prints and slides can be emailed to [email protected] or land-mailed to:
