The news director at Vista Radio in Prince George will become the Prince George Airport Authority's (PGAA) new marketing and communications manager starting next month.

Lindsay Andreza will take over the posting effective Aug. 1, PGAA chief executive officer John Gibson said in a press release issued Wednesday.

Andreza, who grew up in Kitimat and moved to Prince George in 2007, has previously worked for Central Mountain Air and CFTK TV in Terrace.

Her key responsibilities will be airport marketing, passenger services development and community and government relations.

"I am thrilled with the opportunity of this position and the challenges it will bring," Andreza said in the press release. "I look forward to contributing to the growth of the Prince George Airport."

It's the second recent major hiring by the PGAA after Al Ridgway was named the director of cargo development in early May.

Ridgway is responsible for attracting cargo carriers to the airport once a fuel-holding and a cross-docking facility have been completed later this year to go with the extended runway.

After Mike Davis left in November 2009 to become the communications manager at City Hall, Todd Doherty held down both jobs until he left in late February to become the director of route development at Edmonton International Airport.
