The airspace around the Prince George Airport was closed for approximately an hour on Thursday afternoon after a small aircraft was reported lost in the heavy snowfall.
Spokespeople for the airport and Prince George Search and Rescue could not be reached as of press time. However at 5:02 p.m. the airport reported, "Great news! The aircraft has landed safe & sound," on Twitter.
Westjet flight 681 from Vancouver was forced to return to Vancouver. Several other flights were delayed by the incident.
