The B.C. Ministry of Environment and Northern Health have ended the air quality advisory for Prince George.
Early morning rain on Thursday reduced the amount of road dust in the air, which had triggered the air quality advisory. The air quality advisory was in effect Tuesday and Wednesday.
Concentrations of fine particulate at the Plaza 400 monitoring site downtown dropped from 78 micrograms per cubic metre of air on Wednesday at 1 p.m. to 40.5 micrograms by Thursday at 7 a.m.
The provincial air quality standard for fine particulate is 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air.
In College Heights the monitoring station reported concentrations of 31 micrograms per cubic meter of air, while in the BCR site was still reporting concentrations of 53.2 micrograms.
The City of Prince George's Free Fare for Clean Air program will continue to run until midnight on Thursday.
