Wildfire smoke continues to blow into Prince George airspace prompting the continuation of an air advisory.
The Ministry of the Environment and Northern Health issued the initial warning Monday morning but the bad air situation is expected to persist until at least this morning.
As of yesterday afternoon, the average was 32 micrograms per cubic metre downtown, 26 at College Heights, 31 at Exploration Place and 33 at Foreman Flats.
The province's objective for fine particles in a 24-hour period is less than 25 micrograms per cubic metre.
Exposure is a particular concern for infants, the elderly, diabetics or those with heart or lung disease.
The city's clean air bylaw prohibits all open burning, including backyard and land clearing burning while the advisory is in effect.
BC Transit users can ride the bus for free beginning this morning for the duration of the air advisory.
