A man has been taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries after police responded to the scene of a violent offence Sunday morning.
RCMP said they received a report of a man down at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning and suspected foul play.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with serious injuries, who was then taken to the University Hospital of Northern BC with life threatening injuries.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the entrance of Gillett Street was clear save for what appeared to be a pile of clothes lying in the street.
One block down, seven RCMP cars blocked the entrance of Freeman Street off Fifth Avenue.
About 15 RCMP cars were blocking off westbound traffic on Fifth Avenue from Gillett Street to Douglas Street.
The serious crime and forensic identification sections are investigating the crime.
