The Adoptive Families Association of BC is celebrating its new office in Prince George Saturday to showcase the services it offers to adoptive families and to encourage more people to consider becoming parents.
Previously Prince George had local support workers, but no office.
Bev Fowlie works as a support worker and said she wants to hear from adoptive parents about what is needed in Prince George.
"Do we need social events for families? Do we need supportive and informative workshops? Do we need support groups?" she asked. "I hope people stop by and share their ideas with me."
The open house is at 213-1717 Third Avenue Prince George, in the Spruce Capital building, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
