Adopt-a-family program ramping up

The Salvation Army is once again looking for organizations and individuals to make the 2014 Christmas Hamper and Adopt-A-Family programs a success.

The Salvation Army is once again looking for organizations and individuals to make the 2014 Christmas Hamper and Adopt-A-Family programs a success.

For over a decade The Salvation Army Prince George has helped match caring organizations and individuals with over 500 less fortunate families, helping them have Christmas that, perhaps they did not expect.

Adopting organizations and individuals are asked to provide food for Christmas day - breakfast, lunch, dinner and some snacks - a gift card for meat as well as gifts for the family based on a wish list the adopted family provides during the registration process.

Registration begins Monday and it's expected about 500 families will sign up to become recipients while the Salvation Army has received just 40 applications so far from people interested in adopting a family.
