Aboriginal business council gets new members

Five northern B.C. residents are now members of the provincial government's Aboriginal Business and Investment Council.

Among the people named to the 13-member council this week were former Skeena MLA Roger Harris, McLeod Lake Indian Band Chief Derek Orr, White River Helicopters Inc. owner and Northwest B.C. Mtis Association vice president Sidney Peltier, former Carrier Cheslatta Nation Chief Corinna Leween and Gwaii Wood Products chief executive officer Arnold Bellis

The council, which held its first meeting this week, has been established to encourage economic development in aboriginal communities across the province and help investors partner with B.C. First Nations.
