Education Minister George Abbott announced Thursday, as expected, he has quit cabinet to run for the B.C. Liberal leadership.
Abbott, the MLA for Shuswap in the Okanagan, played heavily on his roots as a rural MLA, saying that what he's learned in 30 years of public life is that the only enduring change is collaborative change. He said one of the principles that would underpin his leadership was supporting rural B.C. as the economic engine of the province.
