Hershey's Canada has searched the entire country looking for the tiniest things Canadians has to offer - and a Prince George resident has stood out.
The company's promotional launch of Reese Minis in Canada brought representatives to town Wednesday to provide Mike McPherson with a decidedly non-mini trophy.
In total, five teeny things have been chosen as the best the country has to offer.
The first tiny treasure is in southern B.C. called Greenwood. It's a little city with a population of 625 people, so little, the town doesn't even have a stop light.
The second award was given to McPherson, a local resident and fishing enthusiast, whose wife, Nicole, got a laugh out of taking a picture every time he caught a tiny fish.
"Everybody is always posing pictures of their biggest catch, so as a lark some of my friends started posting pictures of their smallest catch... and it just so happens that my wife gets a kick out of taking pictures of me with small fish," said McPherson.
The couple never imagined when posting their funny pictures online that Hershey's would come knocking.
"Hershey's Canada conducted an independent search, we looked across Canada for people who either had a love for mini things and we found him through looking online," Sean Citrigno, spokesperson for Hershey's.
The prize pack includes a years supply of Reese Minis, bragging rights and a trophy.
The remaining three perfectly tiny awards are being kept secret until they are all revealed over the next week.
"You look at the lure and it's as big as the fish," McPherson.
The other winners will be announced at www.perfectlytiny.ca.
