Tyler John Hartman, 31, is the man police believe brought a sawed-off shotgun to rob a pizza place.

The incident, as was reported in The Citizen, happened last Saturday at a pizza

takeout location on Westwood Drive.

A lone male suspect entered the pizzaria, showed staff what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and forced them to give up a small quantity of cash.

The suspect then left the area on foot.

"Police response to this call was swift," said Prince George RCMP spokesman

Cpl. Craig Douglass.

"The area was cordoned off and a track commenced with a police service dog. As the track continued, a suspect armed with a loaded sawed-off shotgun was located and arrested by members of the perimeter team patrolling on foot."

The arrest was made without incident in the grounds of Westwood elementary school on Vanier Drive.

It was Hartman who was arrested and police allege it was he who robbed the store.

Hartman was at the time, said Douglass, under previous court order to have no

firearms in his possession.

His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday.
