RCMP seized 9,000 marijuana plants from a property in the Spokin Lake area 25 kilometres east of Williams Lake on Friday.
Police said the plants were found in an outbuilding built specifically for growing marijuana. They also found two large diesel generators and two 1,500-gallon fuel tanks to keep them running worth an estimated $500,000 in total.
The plants, meanwhile, have a street value of $1.125 million and police claimed the site has the capacity to produce three times that amount in a year.
"The dismantling of this grow operation will take at least two days," Williams Lake RCMP Staff Sgt. Warren Brown said in a press release.
Five Asian men with identification linking to the Lower Mainland were arrested without incident.
