Five Fort St. John men are facing a total of 200 charges stemming from a July 25 incident at a party spot on the Beatton River outside the city.

Jordan "Billy" Ramos, Jordan Reno, Jeremy Jondreau, Calvin Gunning and Joshua Toth are each charged with 40 Criminal Code offences ranging from pointing and using a firearm to at least four different types of assault as well as uttering threats.

Police say at a July 25 party of teens ands adults, several fights broke out. One participant left the scene, but returned with a group of friends armed with weapons including a handgun, baseball bat, two-by-fours and more.

An ensuing "violent assault" resulted in numerous people suffering serious injuries and assaults, and damaged vehicles from being struck by weapons. Huge amounts of police time was spent on the investigation, said RCMP Sgt. Steve Perret.

"All of the accused are well known to police. We have noticed a significant decrease in violent crime in the community since arrests were made in this incident."

While Ramos, Reno and Jondreau are in custody awaiting trial, Gunning is out on bail pending a court appearance and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Toth.

Police are asking public assistance in locating him by calling Ft. St. John police at 250-787-8140 or your nearest detachment.
