It was 16 years ago that now-retired Citizen employee Wayne Cameron had the idea of providing CN Centre with plaques of images Citizen photographers captured during some of the many spectacular acts produced there each year.

"The plaques represent something much bigger as Prince George's emergence of the capital of Northern B.C. Prince George is the place to go for great entertainment," said Andy Beesley,

manager of the CN Centre.

On Wednesday, CN Centre staff, Mayor Shari Green and Citizen employees celebrated the unveiling of the 150th such plaque - a photo of the KISS concert held June 2011 taken by Citizen photographer Brent Braaten.

A large majority of the images were taken by Braaten with other photos credited to The Citizen's Dave Mah, former Citizen photographer Dave Milne and CN Centre photographer Jim Vanderploeg.

Taken as a whole, the display creates a pictorial history of events spanning more than a decade.

"I know the plaques trigger great memories for people that come to CN Centre," said Beesley. "I know it prompts many conversations and these plaques are deeply meaningful to people. People will walk around and find the photo of their show - the one they were able to attend of their favourite artist or group - like Elton John and KISS."

Creating the plaque is a collaborative effort right from the editorial department's photographer, to the layout artist who works with the sales associate to design the plaque in an appealing way.

"It's so gratifying to see The Citizen's great talent and the CN Centre's high-calibre shows combining to create such an impressive display," said managing editor Sylvie Paillard.

CN Centre entertainment and marketing manager Glen

Mikkelsen voiced appreciation for the collaboration between the two organizations.

"We like to recognize The Citizen for their contributions to CN Centre," said Mikkelsen. "Thank you for enhancing the appearance of the facility as well as commemorating its history."
